Get in touch
darkpsychology.eu is a personal editorial project run by Octavio Ortega Esteban, a psychologist and engineer based in Toledo, Spain. I read every message and try to respond personally, although the volume of emails sometimes means a reply takes a few days.
Before writing, please take a moment to identify the nature of your message — it helps me respond faster and more usefully.
What you can write to me about
Editorial feedback, corrections, or source suggestions
If you have spotted an inaccuracy in an article, want to suggest a relevant academic study, or believe a topic deserves a different angle, I genuinely want to hear from you. The site improves through informed reader contributions.
When writing, please include:
- The URL of the article concerned
- The specific point you wish to address
- The source supporting your suggestion, where applicable
Topic suggestions and editorial requests
If there is a concept in dark psychology, persuasion, manipulation, narcissism, or any related field that you would like to see covered, send your suggestion. I cannot guarantee I will write about every topic suggested, but reader requests genuinely shape the editorial calendar.
Collaboration proposals
I am open to:
- Guest articles from psychologists, researchers, or specialised writers with relevant credentials
- Mentions of academic studies that fit the site’s editorial line
- Cross-references with other rigorous popular-science blogs
I am not open to:
- Generic SEO link-building proposals
- Sponsored content disguised as editorial articles
- Content created by AI without disclosure
- Affiliate marketing or thinly veiled advertising
Press, media, or interview requests
If you are a journalist, podcaster, or media professional and would like to discuss topics covered on the site, write with the subject Press / Media. Indicate the medium, the format, and the deadline.
Legal and copyright matters
For specific legal questions, see:
- Copyright and DMCA notifications: /dmca/
- Personal data and GDPR rights: /privacy-policy/
- Accessibility: /accessibility/
For other legal matters, write with the subject Legal.
What I cannot help you with
I want to be honest from the start about the limits of what this site offers, because the topics covered (manipulation, narcissistic abuse, psychopathy, coercive control) often reach readers in painful personal situations.
I am not your therapist.
I cannot:
- Provide individual psychological consultation by email
- Diagnose anyone — neither you, nor a partner, nor a relative, nor a colleague
- Assess whether someone in your life “is a narcissist”, “is a psychopath”, or “is manipulating you”
- Recommend specific psychotropic medication or treatment
- Replace a follow-up with a qualified mental health professional
This is not a matter of lack of will — it is a matter of professional ethics. A serious clinical assessment requires direct contact, time, and a therapeutic framework that an email cannot provide. Anyone who tells you otherwise online is doing you a disservice.
If you are going through a difficult moment
If you are dealing with an active situation of psychological abuse, narcissistic abuse, manipulation, mental health crisis, or suicidal thoughts, please contact specialised services. They can help you in real time, with confidentiality and competence.

A final word
This site exists because I believe popular psychology can be done seriously, without sensationalism, and without infantilising the reader. Every constructive message helps maintain that line.
